Welcome to Broad Street Dental Surgery

Broad Street Dental Surgery has been a family dental practice since 1972, when Mr R Gould moved the practice from High Town. It was then purchased by Mr M. Pawley in 2011 and moved to it’s new modern premises at Broadway House in 2014.
The move in 2014 has enabled the practice to progress and expand it’s range of dental treatment’s available. The modern surgeries and equipment has now enable the practice to offer treatments such as but not limited to: Dental Implants, Invisible Braces, Tooth coloured Fillings, Tooth Whitening and much more. It also boasts arguably one of the best waiting room views in the county with patients regularly turning up early just to gaze over the city and on a clear day unto the black mountains.
In 2020 the practice changed hands and is now under the guidance of Andrew Farr and his wife Georgina. They are aiming to continuously grow and expand the practice whilst maintaining a warm, family-friendly feel.

Please Mind the Gap

This is a wonderful little case which demonstrate how a simple treatment can make a big difference.

Initially this lovely patient presented complaining of the gaps in her lower front teeth. She was very conscious of smiling and very aware of the spacing on show. The image below shows her initial presentation.

We discussed options which included short term orthodontics, composite build ups (but this would be a difficult to achieve an aesthetic result due to the size of the spacing) or to accept the spacing. Short term orthodontics was the treatment of choice. Following an orthodontic assessment and consent the patient was provided with fixed aesthetically pleasing brackets from 3M and Quick Straight Teeth

After 8 months the treatment produced a very nice result. The spacing was closed and the patient was very happy with the end results. Following space closure, retention is incredibly important. This was provided with both a lingual fixed retainer and an essix removable retainer. We discussed restoration of the two unit space in the lower left quadrant which included, dental implants, bridge, denture or to leave. The patient opted to have a lower denture.
